A Very Ube Christmas

This weekend Scott and I, with some creative direction from Lola, decorated our Christmas tree. We all wore our Christmas jammies and had hot chocolate (well some of us did). We both love how the tree turned out even if we cannot agree on the lights.

Lots of ornaments!

The first ornament of Christmas - the Polar Express first gift of Christmas ornament.

The second ornament of Christmas.

The stocking were hung by the chimney with care...

Note: I borrowed the title of this post from Scott :)

Doctor's Appointment

Lola went back to the doctor on Friday to get her weight checked and her skin condition checked out. She now weighs 9 pounds 13 ounces. She is gaining over the half an ounce a day that they were looking for. Good job gaining weight Lola! And the doctor confirmed that she does have baby acne. I learned that it is due to the testosterone in her system. Apparently, babies her age can have the same levels of testosterone as teenage boys! The good news is that it should clear up on its own in the next few weeks.

Visit from Aunt Kelly

We were lucky enough to get a visit from Aunt Kelly this week. She spoiled Lola with several new outfits and shoes. She cooked me dinner and helped with Lola. Kelly and I went to see Scott at work and introduced Lola to Scott's co-workers. We also took Lola on her first trips to the mall and to Target. I was a wonderful visit and we cannot wait to see her again at Christmas.

Amazon iPhone App + Late Night Feeding = Lola's First Online Purchase

Considering what I do for a living, it should not be a surprise that Lola made her first online purchase at one month of age but it did. I was reading blogs late one night while nursing Lola. One post was about this great deal on Fisher-Price Little People Animal Sounds Farm. I was checked out the toy on my Amazon app on my phone and thought it was still too expensive so I did not buy it. Apparently, Lola thought otherwise. At the next feeding, I saw an email from Amazon confirming my order of the toy. Lola must have hit the phone with her foot and used the one click checkout to get her toy. Merry Christmas Lola!

One Month

It is hard to believe that Lola is one month old! She is growing so fast and has officially out grown all her newborn clothes. Her 0-3 months clothes fit her best. She is still wearing size one diapers - a lot of them. She loves her activity mat and will sit and stare at all the bright colors. She also loves to move. She is always stretching and kicking her legs. Lola also has started following Scott and I with her eyes. And she smiles at us which melts our hearts. She still has irregular sleep patterns but we have had a few nights with a stretch of 5 hours of sleep at once. Lola is a daddy's girl - she loves to hang out in the Scoot Cave with her daddy and watch sports.

Waiting for Ube

I had planned to use this blog to document my pregnancy and it was titled "Waiting for Ube". I am a little behind as our Lil' Ube is now 1 month old and I am just now getting around to posting for the first time. So, I changed the name and I am going to do my best to post often. Lola is growing up so fast and I want to be able to remember each stage of Lola's life. I am also going to do some flashback posts to document some of my pregnancy and the first month of Lola's life. And if we are lucky, Scott will be posting as well.
