The Tiniest Jawa

Last night, Lola had a dinner that involved chicken, green beans and banana. The result left her shirt a mess, so after we disposed of it, she decided she wanted to wear Daddy's shirt.

Which made her look a little bit like a Jawa from "Star Wars." Which makes some sense since she was Princess Leia for Halloween ...

Swingtime = Sleepytime?

With spring having sprung, Lola loves little more than going outside after school to swing in her backyard swingset. Well, take some sleepless nights lately due to teething and throw in a long day of playing at school, and it just became too much for her the other day.

Hence, a nap in the swing. Who needs a hammock, anyway?

My Girls

One of my favorite pictures, ever. It's on my desk at work and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Bubbles

Lola loves bubbles. Well, she loves saying the word "bubble." And she loves carrying around the bottle of bubbles. But she has a hard time giving up said bottle of bubbles to actually blow bubbles. So, last night I got the brilliant idea to make Lola a bubble bath thinking she would love it. Plus it was a way to convince her that going outside at night in the rain to blow bubbles was not a good idea. Lola HATED her bubble bath. You would have thought we were putting her in a vat of boiling oil. She did not even stay in long enough to get a picture or even wash her hair. It is going to be a while before I try to give her a bubble bath again. I am destine to have the smelly kid in class.

A Place for Everything, and Everything in Its Place

Lola is going through a phase were she tends to like her food just so before she eats it. Here, she turns her star cookies into a constellation just prior to gumming the yogurt off them, wiping the rest on Daddy's clothing and throwing the remains under the ottoman.

Good times.

Lola & The Loco Pop

This weekend, Lola somehow got introduced to popsicles. They were selling "Loco Pops" where we had our lunch, and Mommy thought it was a capital idea to get a cherry pineapple popsicle and let Lola try it. She wasn't digging it at first, but once she warmed up to the idea, she downed the whole thing (not much of a teaching opportunity for sharing). Conveniently, Mommy then had an afternoon appointment while Daddy spent much of the rest of the day chasing Lola around the ceiling.

We can never go back to pre-popsicle times now.

A Horse Is A Horse Is A Horse, Of Course ...

Lola rode the carousel with Mommy at the Cary Towne Center a few weeks back. I don't think she knew quite how to feel about it.

Family Night At El Rodeo ...

... left us all "muy cansado" (very tired).

Aunt Trish came down to visit with Grandma in Hampstead, then they drove up to Raleigh for dinner at our favorite Mexican place. Cliff, Holly, Carson and Maslan; Dan and Jake (Jenny had to work, which was a bummer); and Scott, Kristin and Lola all took part in the festivities.

It was great to see everyone!

P.S. That is Ube's "Mighty Mouse" pose above.
